For our entire life, we keep striving and fighting for something better. When we finally reach that better, our better, it doesn't seem good enough. Why? Because our definition for THE better has changed by then.
For understanding the reason behind this metamorphosis, it is important to understand the difference between our needs and wants. And then not let our wants turn into greed. What we cannot live without is need, what we desire and is something we can survive without is want and when we make our want a need , that's where greed begins.
What I'm trying to highlight is not that we should be satisfied with what we have because then, it would mean inactivity and this satisfaction would become an obstacle in our own growth. And growth is a need, it is gist of life. We live to grow.
But in our desire to grow, we shouldn't forget how we began, we shouldn't lose the grip of the ground. In our desire for getting something we better, we shouldn't forget to live the life. We shouldn't stop valuing the small moments which make big memories. What is the use of a better "life", if we couldn't live it until we have air in our lungs, energy in our body to live it.
If we get so lost in our desires that we're ignoring ourselves and losing ourselves in this limitless marathon and saving it for future. Who knows what the future holds for us? Maybe something much better than we have saved for it.
So carpe diem! :)
